Join us on the Newcastle quayside for Yoga in the sunshine this summer!

If you enjoy your yoga ‘al fresco’ there are lots of opportunities to join Yoga x Life on the Newcastle Quayside throughout August this summer.

Dog on the Tyne Festival

Yoga x Life is heading down to Newcastle Quayside this summer for NE1’s Dog on the Tyne and we’re bringing dog‑friendly yoga with us. Across the day we’ll be offering gentle, accessible outdoor sessions where you and your dog can stretch, breathe and settle together by the river. These relaxed classes are designed for all levels, so you don’t need any previous yoga experience, just a willingness to move, pause and enjoy some calm time with your four‑legged friend.

Sessions are free to book as part of the wider Dog on the Tyne programme, which turns the Quayside into a dog‑lover’s haven with walks, puppuccinos, selfie spots and more. Yoga x Life will be teaching by the Swirle Monument/Wesley Square area, partnering with NE1 to make yoga feel easy, joyful and woven into everyday city life. Bring a lead, water and a mat or towel, and come and try dog yoga with us; it’s a simple way to soothe your nervous system, deepen the bond with your dog, and experience practice in a new, playful way.

The Quayside Carnival

Quayside Carnival is back on the Newcastle Quayside this summer and Yoga x Life will be there with family‑friendly yoga sessions as part of the day’s celebrations. Across the festival you’ll find circus performances, crafts, free boat rides and character meet‑and‑greets, alongside bookable family yoga classes designed to help kids and grown‑ups move, breathe and reset together amidst all the fun. Between our two yoga slots there’s even a Michael Jackson dance‑along, so families can switch from mindful movement to full‑on party energy and back again.

Our Quayside Carnival sessions with NE1 are short, accessible classes that focus on simple movement, grounding breath and playful poses that work for mixed ages and abilities. It’s an easy way to introduce children to yoga, give the whole family a nervous‑system‑friendly pause in the middle of a busy day, and experience practice outdoors on the riverfront. Pre‑book your free slot via’s our booking page or app, bring comfortable clothing and a willingness to join in, and we’ll take care of the rest.

And our OWN Quayside Summer Flows

Our summer Quayside yoga sessions are still on – just in a slightly different form this year. We were disappointed to hear that NE1 wouldn’t be running the full Summer in the City schedule, choosing instead to focus on their festival weekends like Dog on the Tyne and the family festival/Quayside Carnival. But we couldn’t imagine letting the whole summer pass without riverside practice, so after a few emails between Nicola and the council, we’re all set to host the sessions ourselves.

Across August, we’ll be running one outdoor Quayside class every Wednesday at 6pm. Because we’re organising these independently, our class capacity is limited so you’ll need to secure your space either using your membership or by purchasing a standard class drop‑in credit. To keep the sessions free to attend, everyone who checks in using a credit will have one re‑credited back to their account afterwards. You still get that summer‑by‑the‑river feeling, the same steady Yoga x Life teaching, and the simple joy of practising outdoors in the city!

Lastly, please don’t forget that for all of the above – Dog on the Tyne, our hosted Quayside summer sessions, and the family‑friendly Quayside Carnival classes please remember you’ll need to bring a yoga mat with you.
