Kula. Your Online Home with Yoga x Life

Kula is Yoga x Life’s online community and practice library. In Sanskrit, kula means community, clan, or coming together: a circle of practitioners gathered with shared intention to support, inspire, and belong. Our digital community offers live online classes, an on-demand library, practice threads, alumni spaces, and events, so your practice has a home wherever you are.

It’s designed to support you between classes, wherever you are: in Newcastle, travelling, or living further afield.

Who is Kula for?

In yoga, any group of people who come together to practise with shared intention can be considered a kula.

Our online Community is for anyone who wants support beyond the weekly timetable:

  • Studio members who want practice and connection between in‑person classes.

  • Online‑only members practising from home, in another city or country.

  • Retreat guests who want integration spaces, threads and touchpoints once they’re back home.

  • Teacher training students and graduates who want ongoing study, Q&A, peer support and alumni spaces.

If you feel like you’re carrying practice into everyday life and would welcome a place to be held, seen and supported, our online community Kula is built for you.

KULA CONTENTS

What’s inside the Kula Community

Everything in Kula is organised into spaces, so you can move between practice, study and connection without feeling confused.

Live online classes and replays

Join live online sessions scheduled directly inside the community, with event pages, reminders and replays stored in one place.

  • Weekly live classes you can join from home.

  • Event pages where you RSVP, join the session and find the replay afterwards.

  • Replays organised so you can practise when your schedule allows.

On‑demand class library

Access a growing library of recorded classes, short practice clips and guided breath/meditation sessions.

  • Collections for beginners, slow flow, restorative, stronger practice and deep work.

  • Short “practice snacks” for busy days and longer sessions when you have more time.

  • Options to build your own weekly rhythm at home, with guidance rather than guesswork.

Practice threads and discussions

Community includes spaces for debate and shared practice.

  • Practice threads for sharing what you’re working with and asking questions about classes, themes and everyday life.

  • Comments and conversations on posts, replays and event pages, so you can chat with other members about specific teachings or sessions.

  • Seasonal challenges and prompts aligned with studio themes and the wider Yoga x Life ecosystem

Study and philosophy spaces

For those drawn to study, there are spaces for notes, readings and discussion:

  • Posts with teachings from classes, workshops and trainings.

  • Recommended reading lists and resources.

  • Conversations around yoga, seasonal living, Ayurveda, nervous system work and meditation.

Training and workshop alumni spaces

Each training cohort has dedicated alumni spaces in the community.

  • Threads to share how you’re integrating the work back home.

  • Follow‑up circles or live sessions to revisit teachings and practices.

  • A place to stay in touch with the people you journeyed with, long after the retreat or training ends.

Events and announcements

See online community calls, special online workshops and announcements gathered in one place.

  • Event pages for community‑only gatherings.

  • Reminders and replays without needing to hunt through email.

  • A simple way to know “what’s on” in the online space this month.

Wondering where it fits in?

Kula joins your weekly practice with deeper journeys and a more independent home practice - whether you’re primarily in‑studio, practising online, or moving between both.

From studio attendee to unbroken practice

Studio memberships that include our online community access let you:

  • Bridge between in‑person and online. Practise in the Studios, then continue online when you need.

  • Keep your rhythm going during travel or busy work periods.

  • Stay connected to teachings and people between in‑person classes.

Deepen your understanding

  • Studio workshops often have follow‑up threads or resources so the learning doesn’t end after one session.

  • Teacher training cohorts use Kula for Q&A, shared notes, peer feedback and alumni support.

  • Retreat guests can reconnect in digital spaces to help you carry the work gently into everyday life.

Access and how to join

  • Certain studio membership tiers include full online access by default (Flow, Elevate, Karma); others can add it.

  • Training bookings include dedicated alumni spaces and event access for a defined period after your programme; details are listed on each retreat or training page.

  • If you live further afield or mainly practise online, you can join as an online community member only.

Check the Practise page and membership section for a full breakdown of which tiers include community.

How it works

Kula runs using ‘circle’ a secure, private platform.

  • You can access Kula via your web browser or download the ‘circle’ mobile app on apple, or google play store and log in.

  • You’ll need to create an account the first time you log in as ‘circle’ is separate software to our studio booking app.

  • If you signed up for a studio membership that includes online access as part of it you will have been sent an email right away to create your online account. Please check your filtered folders and if it isn’t there send us a message here.

You don’t have to be “on” all the time; once you’re signed up, you can drop into Kula whenever you like and use it in the way that serves you; whether that’s regular check‑ins, occasional inspiration, or simply knowing there’s a circle of others alongside you even when you’re practising solo at home.
