‘Yomala’; Vinyasa & Yoga Therapeutics
The Essential Starting Place:
Become a certified Yoga Teacher with our Accredited 200-hour Foundation Yoga Teacher Training in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The essence of our 200-hour foundational training, is to educate and empower in equal measure.
The name for our 200hour Foundation Yoga Training, ‘Yomala’, is inspired by the Sanskrit term Yāmala (यामल), which denotes the powerful synergy of consciousness and action, or the conjoined state of Shiva and Shakti. Our yoga teacher training is structured over four modules that teach the essential principles of an effective, and authentic yoga practice. Expect to gain a solid understanding of yogas origins and philosophies whilst discussing their evolutions and applications in the modern world we live in. Explore embodied anatomy and understand alignment, whilst building a repertoire of powerful practices and ethical frameworks.
Our Course aims to;
Establish a deep and, integrated understanding of yoga that goes beyond the physical postures,
Equip teachers with the tools needed to guide diverse students responsibly,
Cultivate personal discipline, self-awareness, and mindful presence,
Ground teaching practice in tradition, authenticity, and continuous learning.
Trainees will leave with;
An ability to teach with confidence, clarity, and integrity,
An understanding of, and respect for the roots of yoga,
An embodied knowledge of the teachings,
A clear path to continue growing in their own personal and professional yoga journey.
Course Structure
Our training unfolds in four immersive modules, each designed to deepen your understanding and practice. Completing all four is essential to gain certification as a yoga teacher, although, modules 1, 2 and 3 can be joined by those purely looking to deepen their personal practice.
Module 1: The Core of It All
Exploring Posture, Breath, and Inner Mechanics
This first module lays the foundation for the entire training by diving deep into the functioning of the body and yoga practices from the inside out. This immersive and practical module is designed to help you understand and teach movement and breath from the depths of your lived experience, infused with a sense of our shared structural intelligence, and an understanding of our bodies (and brains!) evolution.
You will learn to see, feel, and guide the body in a way that honours its complexity, and trains both awareness and adaptability for yourself and your student. This is not a foundation that ‘starts small’ but rather is one that builds deep. You’ll leave with tools to teach movement and breath, but more importantly, you’ll leave understanding the ‘why’ underneath, ensuring you can move from awareness and not habit.
Module 2 : Structure and Flow
The Art and Craft of Sequencing and Assisting
This module explores how to weave the components of practice into a living, intelligent whole. We will explore how to design practices around principles of ‘rasa’ that convey feeling, purpose and integrable information in order to craft sequences for yourself and others that awaken presence and pave the way for transformation.
You will learn to build practices around an inner logic that will feel seamless and alive, whilst integrating components of structure based on an understanding of how the different segments, components and layering of elements underpin different physiological and psychological effects. You will learn how to use cueing and physical adjustments in order to safely and effectively support progress and autonomy.
At the end of the module you’ll have the skills to craft, adapt and refine classes with a balance of precision and creativity that meets all students where they are. To consolidate this module practitioners will write a four week course submitted as 1/3rd of the assessment for the total teacher training.
Module 3: Stillness and Subtlety
Exploring Prana, the Energy Body and Principles of Restoration
This module delves deeper into the unseen architecture of practice. We will explore the movements of prana, and the energetic principles and practices that underlie yoga and other forms of embodied and therpeutic movement and meditation practices. Through breathwork, restorative postures, meditation and subtle body mapping you’ll learn how to use your practice to replenish and harmonise energy in order to guide through states of rest and renewal into empowerment!
At the end of the module you will have the skills to tap into the medicinal heart of yoga practice, and offer classes in a variety of modalities.
Module 4: Voice, Presence and Holding Space
The Art and Craft of Inspirational Teaching
This concluding module focuses on the practical art of teaching, offering tools to bring your knowledge to life in the classroom with authenticity and confidence. We’ll explore how to find and refine your teaching voice, communicate with clarity, and create inclusive environments where students feel safe and supported. You’ll practice verbal cueing, observation, hands-on assists, all whilst gaining essential insights into the operational realities of the yoga industry. and understanding what it is to run a modern yoga business.
During this immersion participants will deliver a yoga class and compliment a multi-choice exam in order to complete the courses assessment.

Chris is an incredible teacher - deeply knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely passionate about sharing the practice. He created such a welcoming and empowering learning space, where everyone felt supported and challenged in the best way.
Every module built on the last with intention and clarity, and there was a perfect balance between hands-on practice, teaching drills, group discussions, and personal growth.
