Restorative Practice & Pranayam

Deepen your knowledge of restorative yoga and somatics, and integrate it in to your teaching with our accredited 50 hour training

Viśrānti translates as ‘rest’, or more specifically ‘to rest into’.

It is the turning inwards of the senses to rest in the space of innate awareness. Of reposing or perhaps even, of re-situating the locus of the self deep in its own midst; called back from the scattered edges of attention in an over stimulated world. The value, and challenge of effective rest is often underrated and certainly underestimated; yet it is the space that underpins our entire practice. And whilst we may all feel that we have enough energy to manage; signs of irritability, tension, swinging moods and dysregulated appetite (both for food and life!) wriggling their way in are sure signs that we are not making space for sufficient and effective rest. In tantra restlessness is described as a root of suffering; leaving us grasping for meaning and worth in the outer world, whilst the capacity to rest into ourselves the bedrock of grace and joy!
