One hour looking after our own little corner of Newcastle.
Some of you who’ve been around the studio for a while might remember that Ouseburn litter picks used to be a fairly regular fixture in the YxL calendar.
Although we haven’t organised one as a group for a while, the litter picking itself never really stopped. Steve and members of the studio team have continued heading out around the neighbourhood over the past few months, and after getting involved with some other local clean-up groups recently, we thought it was about time we got everyone involved again.
We’ve even still got our original litter pickers, which have a nice story of their own. They were made here in Britain by a charity using recycled disposable face masks, turning one bit of waste into something designed to help us collect another.
We’ll meet at Yoga x Life before heading out together for one hour around the streets, paths and green spaces of Ouseburn, led by Steve who’ll be keeping an eye on the most needy areas. With a fresh year of students arriving there is sure to be some additional work to be done!
There’s no experience needed, no big commitment and you don’t need to be a Yoga x Life member. We’ve got the litter pickers, so just come along, get stuck in and help us give our own little corner of Newcastle some attention.
We’ll start and finish at the studio, with a free coffee waiting for everyone when we get back and a chance to sit down together afterwards.
