Sunrise Intensive & Sunrise Yintensive

Two new weekend Special Classes. Two very different approaches to the work of yoga.

There's a difference between doing more yoga and going further into your practice.

As we continue rebuilding and expanding the programme at Lime Street, we're introducing two new weekend Special Classes that get right to the heart of what we teach at Yoga x Life: purposeful practice, technical understanding and the willingness to explore beyond what's familiar.

Led by Chris over an initial five weeks, Sunrise Intensive and Sunrise Yintensive approach that work from opposite directions. One is fiery, physical and full of movement. The other is sustained, meditative and concerned with the quieter, but equally powerful, processes of inner transformation.

Both invite us to pay closer attention to what we're doing, why we're doing it and what might change as a result.

Sunrise Intensive: Tapas: The Fire of Practice

A fiery, dynamic exploration of movement, breath and the transformative power of disciplined effort.

Tapas is often translated as heat or austerity, and within yoga it points towards the capacity to apply effort deliberately, to stay engaged when things become demanding and to allow that sustained engagement to change us.

These sessions bring together powerful breathwork, dynamic sequencing, deep twists and adventurous apex postures, with each practice built around a particular physical and technical challenge.

We'll work through the mechanics of movement, explore how strength, mobility and breath support one another, and use carefully constructed sequences to develop the skills needed for more complex postures and transitions.

Expect to work, to learn and to discover new possibilities within your practice.

Sunrise Yintensive: The Power of Inner Knowing

A sustained, meditative practice exploring stillness, sensation and the processes of inner transformation.

There's a particular kind of power in remaining still long enough to notice what's actually happening.

Sunrise Yintensive brings together extended yin postures, breathwork and meditation to create the conditions for a more intimate exploration of our own experience.

We'll spend time investigating our relationship with sensation, attention and the habits that influence how we respond to what we encounter.

The longer holds give us a practical setting in which to observe those responses, while breathwork and meditation provide ways to work more directly with attention and awareness.

This is a practice of deep enquiry, using stillness and sustained attention to recognise our habitual patterns and open the possibility of meaningful change.

More teaching. More individual attention.

These sessions are also an opportunity to work more closely with Chris on the finer details of practice.

You'll be encouraged to use your consent tokens to opt into hands-on assists and specialised feedback, giving us more opportunities to explore technique, refine postures and offer individual guidance throughout the sessions.

That might mean exploring the mechanics of a demanding posture, finding a different relationship with a familiar shape or receiving guidance that helps you understand your own movement and experience more clearly.

Assistance will always remain optional, with your preferences respected and consent checked throughout.

Five weeks. Two pathways.

Both Special Classes will run for an initial five weeks, with a different focus each weekend. You're welcome to attend individual sessions or make them a regular part of your practice.

Weekend mornings | 7.30–8.30am | Led by Chris

Special Classes have a 48-hour cancellation window. Please cancel at least 48 hours before the session starts.

Flow: Beyond the regular routine

A consistent practice matters. It's why our Align membership provides unlimited access to the regular studio schedule, giving you the opportunity to build strength, familiarity and a rhythm of practice that works for your life.

Yoga also offers an enormous amount of territory to explore, from the intricacies of physical movement to the subtleties of breath, meditation and philosophy.

Flow is our membership for those who want to investigate that wider territory.

It includes everything in Align, alongside our programme of Special Classes, where we can devote more attention to particular techniques, challenging postures, breathwork, meditation and the philosophical ideas that give these practices their context.

Flow also includes our online practice library, allowing you to continue learning and practising beyond the studio.

As we expand the programme at Lime Street, there'll be more opportunities to explore all of this, from focused physical sessions to contemplative and philosophical practice.

Sunrise Intensive and Sunrise Yintensive are both included for Flow members and above.

If you're currently on Align, you can upgrade to Flow and enjoy the wider programme alongside your regular classes. Alternatively, either Sunrise Special can be booked individually with an £18 Special Class Credit.
